News (July)
The London Magazine has been relaunched.
The sparkle has returned, a quality largely absent during the period when Sebastian Barker was editor. I am sure that Alan Ross, who edited the magazine so well until his death in 2001, would be delighted. I have a story and a review in the next edition. The generous owner, Dr Burhan Al-Chalabi, recently hosted a lunch at the Travellers Club for some of those connected to the magazine. It was a splendid occasion. In the current issue there are contributions from, amongst others, Bruce Anderson, Beryl Bainbridge, Derwent May and Peregrine Worsthorne. Grey Gowrie is the Special Editorial Advisor.
My novel It's All Right, Ma (set in 1967) is with my literary agent Christopher Sinclair-Stevenson.
Fragmented, an interconnected collection of stories about London, will be published by Cinnamon Press in early 2011.
My very short story 'Lotus Flower and Cherry Blossom' will be in Exposure, an anthology of microfiction (Cinnamon Press, September 2010).
Another story is forthcoming in Blue Tattoo. I have resigned from my position as editorial advisor to The London Miscellany to concentrate on other projects.
